Lisandro Garcia Rebelo’s boxing journey began at just eight years old, training side-by-side with his father—his first coach, role model, and biggest supporter. From backyard workouts to early morning runs, Lisandro built the discipline, resilience, and competitive fire that still define him today. Even as a child, he hated losing. Every setback sharpened his focus and fueled his drive to work harder and come back stronger.
At age 11, recognizing his natural strength and relentless energy, Lisandro’s parents introduced him to boxing to help develop not only athletic ability, but also confidence, discipline, and mental focus. He soon joined Sully’s Boxing Gym, where fate connected him with Tony Morrison, a former national champion who immediately saw Lisandro’s potential.
Coach Morrison began by building Lisandro’s foundation through strength and conditioning before advancing him to technical drills, bag work, and sparring. After just six months, Lisandro stepped into the ring for his first amateur bout—a narrow loss that only intensified his commitment. He returned to the gym with renewed determination and went on to secure an extraordinary 18-fight winning streak.
Today, at just 15 years old, Lisandro is ranked #1 in Canada in the 52kg youth division, holding multiple provincial and national titles. Known for his sharp jab, intelligent footwork, and unwavering mental toughness, he models elements of his style after his biggest inspiration, Floyd Mayweather—admiring his defense, ring IQ, and showmanship.
“Boxing isn’t about being the bad guy,” Lisandro says. “It’s about entertaining people. Precision, movement, performance—that’s what I love.”
In September 2025, Lisandro expanded his training by joining the team at Boxer’s Club under coach Helmand Alekozai. While his time at Sully’s built his conditioning base, Boxer’s Club sharpened his technique—emphasizing form, stroke quality, nutrition, and fight strategy.
In 2026, Lisandro fought a club show at Grant Boxing Club and competitive events. He is currently preparing to travel to Thailand for the Youth Olympic Qualifiers—an important step toward his goal of representing Canada on the world stage. His next major tournament will be in Calgary, where a victory would earn him the #1 national ranking at 55kg heading into the Canadian Nationals.
